United Brethren Discipline

The Discipline is the “manual of operations” for the US National Conference. It states what we believe on various issues, how we are organized, and how we operate as a church. It can be revised by a majority vote of the US National Conference.

The Discipline editions from previous years can also be downloaded in PDF format:

Most policies and procedures regarding ministers–licensing, assigning, accountability, etc.–are detailed in the Pastoral Ministry Handbook. The Pastoral Ministry Leadership Team has authority to revise it at any time.

Doctrinal Statements

Over the years, UB leaders have adopted statements on several theological issues, usually as a way to confront an issue which had arisen at that time, and which aren’t addressed clearly in the Confession of Faith. We have five doctrinal statements: the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, the Authority and Infallibility of Scripture, Depravity, Divine Foreknowledge, and the Destiny of the Unevangelized.

International Governing Documents

We are also part of an international fellowship in which churches from ten countries participate. The international church has its own governing documents:

Confession of Faith | Core Values | Constitution | By-Laws.
